What a month!!

WOW! What a month it's turned out to be. Halloween rush is over for All About Tots, all orders have been shipped and I am extremely happy with how fast and efficient everything was handled this year.

Once orders were taken care of family events started to fill in the holes. Friday we had a very exciting day. At 1:55 in the afternoon we were filled with laughter, tears (of joy) and excitement! At that very moment we were greeting my brother straight off the plane from Afghanistan, my other brother and his wife and my cousin and his wife were both delivering beautiful baby girls! We completely surprised my kids with the arrival of my brother, it was great. They thought we were there to watch the airplanes, I can't believe they didn't have a clue we don't ever just go to watch the airplanes. We are just so thankful that he is back!

Now, I will take the rest of October to enjoy my kids and family. I will be posting a Limited Edition this Monday as planned. Starting November 1 I will started relisting our items in our Etsy store. I hope everyone has a great Halloween and stay safe!

It is totally my fault, it's the middle of wedding season and it has been absolutely crazy and I have completely neglected all of my wonderful fans. So I wanted to find a way for there to be a little more interaction with everyone. Sooooo......

Every Monday a new limited edition item will be posted on our Facebook page. This item will not be listed in our store or in our Etsy shop, it is exclusively for our wonderful Facebook Fans! This dress is perfect for a Belle costume for Halloween or a Flower Girl Dress for weddings. It can be made in any color.

Alice in Wonderland! I love this dress. It is made with turquoise tulle and white tulle place to look like an apron. It has turquoise flutter sleeves and white satin ribbon that ties on the shoulders. It also features a white satin ribbon belt that can be tied in the front or the back. This costume includes the dress and the matching hair bow headband.

Tinkerbell! Who doesn't love Tinkerbell! This costume is made with emerald green tulle and a pale yellow sequin flower clip. There is an emerald green satin ribbon that ties around the neck for a halter look. There is also a satin ribbon that is used as a belt and can be tied in the front or the back. This costume includes the tutu dress and the flower clip that can be attached to the dress or worn in the hair.

This beautiful skirt is the tutu version of a petti-skirt. Our petti-tutu is made with an elastic waistband that will stretch and an abundance of the finest tulle.

The elastic waistband is sewn for durability. All of our tutu's are tied for maximum poof. The satin bow is sewn on securely and cannot be removed (perfect for little hands).

Our first Tutu Dress!

For my daughters 3rd birthday she asked me to make her a tutu dress, which had to be purple, ALL OF IT. So here it is, our first tutu dress. And yes we will be adding them to the website for purchase.

Our first broken arm!

So we have officially experienced our first broken arm. I have thought for the past 5 years and especially here in the last 2 months, with the whole new four wheeler thing, that our daredevil son would be the first with a broken bone but I was wrong, our 2 year old daughter will be our first. The worst part about the entire thing is that it wasn't something she did. All of the kids, ours and our next door neighbors, were running around playing and chasing our 5 month old black lab, no harm right. Wrong, the puppy caught up with Aubrey and jumped up on her back with his paws on her shoulders causing her to face plant on the ground, then he just trampled right over her like he was thinking one down 4 to go.

Still to this day I don't know if she land on a rock when she fell or if she was trying to catch herself when it broke. And the poor thing had to wait 8 hours in the emergency room for a cast. I got her to the emergency room at 11:45 pm and didn't return home until 7:30 am the next morning. To top it off I had to take our 4 month old with me because I wasn't sure how long I would be gone and she has to be fed, I am just relieved that Dakota (4 month old) is such a good baby.

So after all of the emergency room stuff and getting a temporary cast I took her to an Orthopedic Doctor and they did more x-rays and turns out she fractured one bone in her forearm and bent the other bone right at the elbow joint. So we had to wait around for a surgeon to take a look at everything and make sure it is going to heal correctly. Luckily no surgery that day but we have to go back in a couple of days to see what he thinks now. I am going to freak out if she has to have surgery!!

Shanna Marsh, owner of Baby Wears Prada, is asking for prayer.

Her 17 month old daughter, Layla, has always been a healthy child, 80th percentile for weight, a great eater and a great sleeper. She is sweet as pie and a little cuddle monkey (she won't let you put her down!). She has a very advanced vocab for her age and is super aware of her surroundings.Layla had a great 15 month checkup. At around 16 months her sleep habits and appetite started to change and she started to become more irritable. At the time they thought they were dealing with a "picky eater". Beginning of May Layla woke up one morning with a swollen eye. They took her to the doctor and she was treated for an ear infection and the doctor said the swelling was just a result of the ear infection. At the same time they noted that her belly was hard and somewhat distended. She had not had a bowel movement for a few days and they were concerned that she was becoming constipated. The next day they took her to the pediatrician who put her on Miralax over the weekend and told them to call back Monday. By Monday morning she was not eating at all, still no dirty diaper, her activity level had decreased and was rubbing her belly and lower back and saying "owie".
Their pediatrician referred them to a GI specialist to see why she was so constipated and wasn't eating. On Thursday May 7th as they sat in GI specialists office expecting to be told that Layla would need some kind of treatment for constipation, they instead hear every parent's worst nightmare. "Cancer"Layla was diagnosed with High Risk, Stage IV Neuroblasoma. There is a massive tumor that extends from above her left kidney, around her side, over her belly and wraps around her aorta. There is also a small tumor behind her right eye, and one behind each ear. In addition, the cancer is in her bone marrow and bones. She has been given a 30% survival rate.Their sweet Layla went from normal, happy and healthy to lethargic, in pain, and skin and bones in a matter of a week and a half. She is currently receiving chemo and her future consists of many more months of chemo, several surgeries, a bone marrow transplant, Immunotherapy, and a lifetime of side effects caused by this treatment. There is no cure for Neuroblastoma so they will live daily wondering when this monster will show up again. Please keep Layla in your thoughts and prayers as she battles this monster. In addition to prayers, she wishes to raise awareness about this deadly form of cancer that only effects children. Please forward Layla's story to your friends and family. Tue, Nov 11, 2008 (BabyCenter News) — Johnson & Johnson and Merck & Co have announced a recall of about 12,000 bottles of Mylicon infant anti-gas drops in cooperation with the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC).
The drops may contain metal fragments. The potential for serious injury is low, and any effects are expected to be temporary and resolved without medical treatment. No injuries have been reported.
The recall involves Infants' Mylicon Gas Relief Dye Free (simethicone-antigas) non-staining drops sold in one-ounce plastic bottles with the lot numbers SMF007 or SMF008. The recall does not affect any Original Infants' Mylicon Gas Relief products (1/2-ounce or 1-ounce size) or Infants' Mylicon Gas Relief Dye Free drops non-staining (1/2-ounce size).

We had so much fun last night taking our kids trick or treating. It was absolutely hilarious watching my son going door to door saying trick or treat and showing off his hulk muscles. My daughter doesn't care much about the door to door factor only that she gets candy.

I will say the only stressfull part of the night was avoiding the trucks, 4 wheelers and trailers. They were everywhere full of adults and kids going from house to house (not that it was a long walk). I think trick or treating is all about walking house to house, not only does it burn off calories for you but your little ones will zonk out at the end of the night. But it was well worth it. Scientists show how breast milk boosts babies' immune systems

Fri, Oct 24, 2008 (HealthDay News) — A molecule called CCR10 plays an important role in a mother's ability to pass along immunity to intestinal infections to her baby through breast-feeding, according to a U.S. study involving mice.

The team from Brigham Young, Harvard and Stanford universities found that normal lactating mice had hundreds of thousands of antibody-producing cells in their mammary glands, while mice without CCR10 had 70 times fewer such cells. The absence of CCR10 was the reason for that deficiency.

The study was published in the Nov. 1 issue of The Journal of Immunology.
"Everybody hears that breast-feeding is good for the baby," study author Eric Wilson, an assistant professor of microbiology at Brigham Young, said in a university news release. "But why is it good? One of the reasons is that mothers' milk carries protective antibodies which shield the newborn from infection, and this study demonstrates the molecular mechanisms used by the mother's body to get these antibody-producing cells where they need to be."
Learning more about CCR10 may prove valuable in future efforts to help mothers better protect their babies.

"This [study] tells us that this molecule is extremely important, so if we want to design a vaccine for the mother so she could effectively pass protective antibodies to the child, it would be absolutely essential to induce high levels of CCR10," Wilson said.

"The molecular basis for this redistribution [of the mother's antibody-producing cells] has not been well-characterized, but Dr. Wilson's work has begun to crack that code and define the molecules responsible for this cellular redistribution and passive immunity," Daniel Campbell, a researcher at the Benaroya Research Institute in Seattle, a nonprofit organization that specializes in the immune system, said in the news release.

"It is important work that fundamentally enhances our understanding of how immunity is provided to the [baby] via the milk. Dr. Wilson's study will certainly form the basis for many other studies aimed at uncovering how the immune system is organized, particularly at mucosal surfaces."

Fisher-Price has announced a recall of about 15,000 Learning Pots & Pans toys in cooperation with the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC).Missing screws in the blue toy pan can cause the clear plastic cover to come loose and release small balls, presenting a choking hazard to young children. Fisher-Price has received five reports of the plastic covers detaching and releasing the small balls. No injuries have been reported.The recalled toy sets come with stackable pots and pans, a lid, and shape-sorting blocks. The toys have light and sound features that operate on three AA batteries. The model number G6685 is located on the bottom of the blue pan.The toy sets were sold at discount department and toy stores nationwide from October 2007 to August 2008 for about $20. A short version about Lil' Ellie's Boutique Owner. Her name is Casey and she is the proud Mommy to a beautiful 15 month old princess named Ellie Grace. She is currently a Stay at Home Mommy running her online business Lil' Ellie's Boutique . She enjoys having the privilege to be at home with my daughter as well as starting her online store. Her husband Trent and herself have been married for four years . He's currently Superintendent for a Company in the DFW area. They moved to Arlington in January 2007.

Lil' Ellie's Boutique came about when she started her job as a SAHM. She had started making a few things for her friends and they suggested that she start selling them. All of her items are handmade.
